Alix Perrachon, owner Alix Unlimited, a carpet industry consultancy.  Alix has written for The New York Times and AREA Magazine and was an editor at the prestigious London-based HALI: The Oriental Rug Journal of Oriental Carpets & Textiles.  Her book, The Decorative Carpet: Fine Handmade Rugs in Contemporary Interiors, published by The Monacelli Press (Random House) due out this fall, features interiors by 32 celebrity designers. 
Malene Barnett of malene b custom handmade carpets is a Brooklyn based designer with expertise in textile arts, painting and illustration. Barnett's client roster includes residential and hospitality design firms.
Ghislaine Viñas - Renowned interior designer, design blogger and winner of Benjamin Moore's 2010 HUE Award for Residential Interiors, Viñas' work has been featured in Interior Design, New York Magazine and Departures.

The International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) and 7 W New York® celebrated the 2009 Rising Stars of Interior Design.  New York designer Jamie Drake interacted and exchanged ideas with this year's honorees: John Willey, Sara Story and Shawn Henderson.

September 21, 2009 | THE DECORATIVE AND ORIENTAL RUG AS DESIGN INSPIRATION
Renowned designer Roderick N. Shade led a discussion entitled Build Your Project from the Ground Up: The Decorative and Oriental Rug as Design Inspiration. The conversation and case studies focused on the aesthetic impact and increased efficiency of selecting the carpet at the beginning of the design process.
